Dudhkunda Trek

Dudh Kunda Trekking with White Himalayan Adventure Treks will offer to you breathtaking views of the eastern Himalayan Range, and the incredible Everest.

DudhKunda Trekking of Solukhumbu region, although is situated in lower altitude in comparison to Khumbu Mountain Range, is adventurous for skilled trekkers and first timers alike. Dudh Kunda Lake which in Nepali literally means the milky lake is situated at the base of Numbur Himal, locally known as Shorong Yul Lha, “Protector of Solu region”. The beautiful lake of Dudh Kunda is very important to the Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims, as it is believed that if you take a dip in this holy lake, all of your sins will be washed away and your wishes will be granted as well. Not only the trek will offer you splendid views of the world’s tallest mountains, you will also be equally captivated by the mystical reddened rhododendron forests. And, if you’re lucky enough, you will be visited by the exotic Mountain leopard, Thars, Pheasants among others.

Dudh Kunda Trekking is less known and unexplored than other trekking routes of this area. A Fewer number of tourists visit it every year. But, it doesn’t mean it is less audacious and gratifying. However, it is getting the recognition it deserves, recently. So, come visit us and let’s go to experience once-in-a-lifetime trek to the land of grand mountains.

Itinerary

From the time you arrive in Kathmandu, the capital and cultural city of Nepal, we will be there at the airport to greet you and take you to your hotel.

It’s a  wonderful long drive experience where  see some of the countryside and hill towns  along the way.

Our journey begins with a scenic flight to Phaplu giving you an opportunity to take in the landscape and terrain from above. After reaching Phaplu we there will be one hour drive through rhododendron forest and across low hills until we reach Ringmo where we will stay the night.

Today we follow a trail that takes us 1000 meters higher to Sarsar Beni where we will find a suitable camping site in which to spend the night.

The trail today takes us to the holy lake of Dudh Kunda from where you can see the snow covered peaks of Mt. Numbur (6959m) and Mt. Karyalung (6681m) and other nearby lower altitude mountains. After taking in the views and capturing our memories on film, we will return to Sarsar Beni where we will stay the night in a tent.

The first leg of our trek today takes us to Pare Danda (2061m) from where we have incredibly beautiful views of the nearby mountains. Our trek eventually takes us to Junbesi where we will stay the night. We can appreciate the incredible perspective on the mountain very close. The exceptional perspective on the mountains from here will be extraordinarily satisfying for everybody. We will proceed with our trek until we reach Junbesi where we will go through the night.

Leaving Junbesi we initially head to Beni and then climb to Phaplu where we will stay the night.

The distance from Kathmandu To Phaplu is 271 km. The time duration to reach from Kathmandu To Phaplu is 7 to 8 hours.

White Himalayan Adventure representative will transfer you to the airport for your final departure from Nepal.
