Gokyo Renjola Pass Trek

Renjo La Pass trek is an adventurous journey in the Khumbu region. Renjo La Pass Trekking will take you to the top of Renjo La Pass from where you can see a tempting view of the surrounding. The trail will include numerous ascending and descending through dense forests in the lower parts, picturesque villages, fine valleys, narrow paths, moraines, and glacial paths. Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trekking will present you with a surreal view of the Himalayas and Himalayan landscape. Renjo La Pass Trek itinerary will lead you to Tibet Border. During the trek, you will get to witness panoramic views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m), Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m), Mt. Pumori (7,161 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m), Mt. Thamserku (6,623 m), Mt. Kongde (6,187 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 m), and numerous other Himalayan mountains.

As you will spend a night in various villages during Gokyo Renjo La Pass Trek, you will get to experience the rich culture, tradition, and unique lifestyle of the locals. You will reach Gokyo Valley where you will get to see striking views of Gokyo Lakes. These lakes have significant importance for both Hindus and Buddhists. Moreover, during Janai Purnima pilgrims visits this place to take a bath in the holy lakes. On the western corner of the lake, you can see the temple of Lord Shiva, and Vishnu is situated. It is recommended to visit Fifth Lakes and Gokyo Ri also while staying at Gokyo.

 

Itinerary

From the time you arrive in Kathmandu, the capital and cultural city of Nepal, we will be there at the airport to greet you and take you to your hotel.

Very early morning you will be picked up at the hotel by our guide and escort you to Ramechhap for domestic flight. Then you board the flight from Ramechhap to Lukla. During the flight you can enjoy stunning views of Himalayas. After landing at Tenzing-Hilary airport you meet your porter. He will carry your luggage. Then you start your trekking. Today you trek of three to four hours. It’s easy and gentle. The trail starts passing a Kani (ceremonial gatehouse). It descends steeply then runs level above Kyangma village, which has a large gompa (monastery) and school. After that, you enter Cheplung village. The trail descends through community forest with the sight of Dudh Koshi River. Crossing suspension bridge it’s a short climb around the ridge to Ghat. Leaving Ghat the trail passes a school and complex of mani walls, Chortens and prayer wheels. Then the trail climbs to the hamlet of Chhuthawa. From Chhuthawa after a short walk, you reach to Phakding.

After a nice morning, walk continues crossing bridges over Dudh Kosi River passing several interesting villages of Toc-Toc,Bhenkar and Monjo arriving at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate, from here on the river bed for few hours and after the last bridge a steep uphill to Namche Bazaar, at Namche with facilities of good restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, and banks.

This idyllic town is an ideal place for “acclimatization”. Health specialists recommend we spend the day being active, rather than sitting idle. From Namche it is possible to take a short hike to Everest View Resort, visit Khumjung or relax and explore Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the main center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, ATMs, internet cafes, shops, restaurants and bakery.A short trek of only a hundred metres will help us to properly acclimatize. Our guides will also take us to the Tourist Visitor Center near the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park where we can observe an assortment of relics related to the first mountaineers to climb Everest, Sherpa culture and discover the varied plant and animal life of the Everest region.

The trail starts with a steep ascent from the valley passing through rhododendron, juniper and large conifer forest that heightens the senses with their aroma. The trail passes through Yak Kharka (meaning grazing pasture for yak) and various Sherpa villages. Throughout the trek, we will be blessed with awesome views of Khumbu La Pass and Tengboche.

Our trek today takes us through the valley among juniper forests. Not long after we have magical views of Mt. Cho Oyu and close by, Mt. Khangtega (6782m) and Mt Thamserku (6623m). In the early afternoon, we finally reach Machhermo Village (4470m) where we will spend the rest of the day exploring the village and outskirts. Tonight we stay at Machhermo.

After breakfast, the trail continues and then before your eyes is the towering Mt. Cho Oyu (8281m) – real wow moment! Further on we come to the gorge at the base of Mt. Khangtega. Also capturing our attention is the enormous mass of Ngozumpa Glacier. After stopping for a lunch break we head to Gokyo’s fifth lake where cameras can be unleashed! A steady ascent takes us to Gokyo where we stay the night.

Today we trek for around 4-5 hours beginning in the early morning with a steep climb up to the peak of Gokyo Ri (5483m). The stunning views will leave you spellbound and put your camera into overdrive! The magnificent views Gokyo valley, the enormous Ngozumpa Glacier (world’s highest), incredible panoramic views of the entire Khumbu region, including the towering peaks of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and Gychung Kang (7952m). overnight at Gokyo.

Up before dawn, we head off to our final high pass following the trail at the end of Gokyo Lake where along the way we are again gifted with more awesome views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche, before crossing Renjo La Pass. This is also one of the most demanding parts of our trek, but once we reach the top we will be rewarded with spectacular 360-degree views of Mt. Cho-Oyu and other towering peaks. After a short break, we continue our trek to the frozen lakes below Renjo La Pass before heading on a long trek downhill to the small village of Lungdeng

Today we take the trail that leads us to Thame (3800m) where we will visit the historic Thame monastery and witness soothing and enchanting Buddhist prayers. We can also get a real feel for Sherpa hospitality, traditions and culture of the local people. Tonight we will stay at Thame and prepare for tomorrow’s descent to Namche Bazaar.

Today we will pass through several villages including Khumjung and will have the mountains behind us as head to the famous Buddhist town of Namche Bazaar, alive with its abundance of Sherpa culture and vibrant atmosphere, where trekkers share their stories. Tonight we stay at Namche Bazaar.

This is our final day of trekking before returning to our starting point at Lukla. This is a time to reflect on the unforgettable memories of our trek as a group and our achieving our individual goals. A free afternoon allows you time to relax and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening we will celebrate with a few drinks and dance.. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

Our morning flight will have us reach Kathmandu in around 30 minutes. During the flight, you will have a birds-eye view of many of the world’s soaring peaks in the Himalaya Ranges. Your guide will escort you from the airport to your hotel.

Today, last day in amazing Nepal with great experience and fond memories of trekking, as per your time for an international flight, White Himalayan Adventure Trekking representative will transfer you to the airport for your final departure homeward bound or to your next destinations.
