The Everest Base Camp trek combines the convenience of well-maintained paths with the raw beauty of the Himalayas. The Everest region, located in the lap of the mighty Himalayas, is recognized for its beautiful scenery and welcoming Sherpa people. This trek introduces you to the world’s highest peak as well as the culture and traditions of Nepal.
The 14 day Everest Base Camp trek will take you to a height of roughly 5550 meters. It provides panoramic views of many 8,000-meter-high summits. You can witness the incredible view of Pumori, Lhotse, Nuptse, Lobuche, and other peaks, as well as the iconic Mt Everest itself.
The EBC trek journey begins with a breathtaking flight from Kathmandu(or Ramechhap Manthali) to Lukla . The Mount Everest Base Camp trek begins and ends in Lukla. The journey starts along the Dudh Koshi River’s bank, passing through the Sagarmatha National Park on the way to Namche Bazaar. Namche is the main trading point in the Everest region, popularly known as an acclimatization destination.
The walk is challenging, but the beautiful scenery of verdant forests, farmland, hills, and mountains will inspire you to keep going. We will depart Namche Bazaar after a day of acclimatization and continue our trek to Tengboche.Upon arriving, we visit the renowned Tengboche Monastery. We will continue our walk to Dingboche. During the hike, you will be able to see Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Ama Dablam, and many more peaks. We will trek from Dingboche to Lobuche. Continuing the journey, we hike to Gorak Shep and walk alongside the Khumbu Glacier until we reach mount Everest base camp. The Khumbu Glacier, the world’s deepest glacier, can also be seen from the Everest base camp. We then return to Gorak Shep to spend the night.
The following day, we hike up Kala Patthar, where we can see the sunrise over Mt. Everest and other peaks. After observing the scenery for a while, we return to Gorak Shep before descending to Pangboche Village. We retrace our steps to Tengboche, passing through the lush forests of rhododendron and juniper, and continue to Namche. Once in Lukla, a flight back to Kathmandu concludes the EBC trek in Nepal.
From the time you arrive in Kathmandu, the capital and cultural city of Nepal, we will be there at the airport to greet you and take you to your hotel.
Very early morning you will be picked up at the hotel by our guide and escort you to Ramechhap for domestic flight. Then you board the flight from Ramechhap  to Lukla. During the flight you can enjoy stunning views of Himalayas. After landing at Tenzing-Hilary airport you meet your porter. He will carry your luggage. Then you start your trekking. Today you trek of three to four hours. It’s easy and gentle. The trail starts passing a Kani (ceremonial gatehouse). It descends steeply then runs level above Kyangma village, which has a large gompa (monastery) and school. After that, you enter Cheplung village. The trail descends through community forest with the sight of Dudh Koshi River. Crossing suspension bridge it’s a short climb around the ridge to Ghat. Leaving Ghat the trail passes a school and complex of mani walls, Chortens and prayer wheels. Then the trail climbs to the hamlet of Chhuthawa. From Chhuthawa after a short walk, you reach to Phakding.
After a nice morning, walk continues crossing bridges over Dudh Kosi River passing several interesting villages of Toc-Toc,Bhenkar and Monjo arriving at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate, from here on the river bed for few hours and after the last bridge a steep uphill to Namche Bazaar, at Namche with facilities of good restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, and banks.
This idyllic town is an ideal place for”acclimatization”. Health specialists recommend we spend the day being active, rather than sitting idle. From Namche it is possible to take a short hike to Everest View Resort, visit Khumjung or relax and explore Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the main center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, ATMs, internet cafes, shops, restaurants and bakery.A short trek of only a hundred metres will help us to properly acclimatize. Our guides will also take us to the Tourist Visitor Center near the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park where we can observe an assortment of relics related to the first mountaineers to climb Everest, Sherpa culture and discover the varied plant and animal life of the Everest region.
The trek continues along the rapid flowing glacial waters of the Dudh Kosi River with magnificent views of the mountains (Mt. Everest, Lhoste, Taboche Peak, Ama Dablam. You eventually reach an altitude of 3,800 meters at Tengboche. At the Tengboche monastery are unbelievably ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of various poses of the Buddha, musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. Our group will be taken to observe a prayer ceremony, either in the evening or in the morning, depending on how the trekking goes this day.
The trek from Tengboche to Dingboche is only a short distance which we will most likely complete in the afternoon. The last hill into Dingboche, and at this high altitude, is challenging! The trail then heads to the village of Somare (4020m) and then to Orsho, both of which have lodged. Later the trail divides, with the left trail heading up to Pheriche before crossing a suspension bridge and a steep climb to the village of Dingboche (4460m) with many good guesthouses.
Our trek today begins at around 8.30 a.m taking us on a relatively easy route up to Chhukung. From here you get a superb view of Mt. Ama Dablam. The views from Chhukung and later in the valley of Island Peak is spectacular. From Nagarjuna, we have magnificent views of Lobuche East (6119m), Thamserku (6608m), Khangtega (6685m), Lobuche West (6145m), Taboche Peak (6542m) and Ama Dablam (6856m) Today’s trek is relatively short, mostly downhill, before reaching Dingboche where we stay overnight.
Today’s trek passes many Chortens (Tibetan shrines & tombs) taking around 1.5 hours before reaching the village of Thugla Ridge (4600m) where we have lunch at its tea house. After lunch, we head towards some towering peaks, such as Mt Pumori (7161m) and Mt. Nuptse (7861m) before reaching Lobuche Village (4940m). We then pass through an open valley before arriving at Thukla after leaving the Pheriche Aid Post at Pheriche (4371m). The aid post is manned during the peak trekking seasons We then descend to the yak pastures of the small settlement of Lobuche. Today’s trek will take around 6 hours.
We commence our trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp through the vast Gorak-Shep. Along the trail, we pass the Indian army mountaineers’ memorials. At this point the path can be confusing, so following your guide is important. The thin air at this high altitude can be exhausting. We traverse rocky dunes, moraine, and streams before reaching the Mt. Everest Base Camp. From Everest Base Camp you will see some of the world’s highest peaks, in stark contrast to the gray surroundings – especially in the spring. Before we are Khumbutse, Nuptse, and Pumori. We will then head back to Gorak Shep for a well earned night’s rest in Gorak Shep.
At around 4 a.m. in the pre-dawn darkness and cold temperatures (-10 to -14 C) we begin our trek. It is common for there to be cold winds at this altitude. Towering peaks, such as Khumbutse, Lingtren, and Changtse loom before us to the east as Everest comes into view. Not until we reach Kala Patthar (5550m) do we get a 360 degree up-close and bird’s eye view of Mount Everest. After taking in the panoramic views and madly clicking cameras we will return back to Lobuche and then to Pangboche for a good night’s rest.
From Pangboche we retrace our steps descending to the Imja Khola and then up through the rhododendron forest to Tengboche monasteries. For some, this will be an opportunity to see the nuns perform their religious ceremonies at the Tengboche Monastery. After lunch at Tengboche, we continue our trek across the hillside blanketed by colorful rhododendron and juniper trees. After crossing the bridge over the (milky river) Dudh Koshi River our trail continues through the Dudh Koshi gorge descending rapidly through the pine forests before reaching Sansa. Along the way we keep our eyes peeled for wildlife, such as (Himalaya Thar) mountain goats, snow leopards, and colorful pheasants while passing through the forest. After passing a Chorten we reach the army camp at Namche Bazaar where we stay overnight.
This is our final day of trekking before returning to our starting point at Lukla. This is a time to reflect on the unforgettable memories of our trek as a group and our achieving our individual goals. A free afternoon allows you time to relax and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening we will celebrate with a few drinks and dance.
Our morning flight will have us reach Kathmandu in around 30 minutes. During the flight, you will have a birds-eye view of many of the world’s soaring peaks in the Himalaya Ranges. Your guide will escort you from the airport to your hotel. Tonight White Himalayan Adventure Treks will put on a farewell dinner where we can share memories and our stories.
Today, last day in amazing Nepal with great experience and fond memories of trekking, as per your time for an international flight, White Himalayan Adventure Trekking representative will transfer you to the airport for your final departure homeward bound or to your next destinations.

We use twice the services of White Himalayan Adventure Treks and the great Dawa. First time as to do EBC trek. It was wonderful. We returned two years later to climb Island Peak at 6200m. Another great experience. The guides are all great, helpful and extremely efficient. They always found nice lodges with great food. You can trust them completely. Dawa and his team, as well as Pasang and Kami are amongst the best in the business. Namaste.
