The Langtang Trekking Trail is an extremely beautiful and fascinating destination in Nepal. Which is not far from the capital city of Kathmandu and it’s just 137 Km far. From the time you arrive in Kathmandu, the capital and cultural city of Nepal, we will be there at the airport to greet you and take you to your hotel.
Early morning start seven-hour journey to the Langtang Valley. The road climbs high over ridges as it leaves the Kathmandu Valley, and provides impressive views of the Annapurna Himalayas in the west, to Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the peaks of the Langtang region ahead.
We drive through the bustling town of Trisuli before climbing towards Dunche and the Langtang National Park. After the town of Dunche it is another hour downhill to Syabru Besi and your lodge for the night.
The trail today takes us across the Bhote Kosi (meaning Tibet River) which flows from Tibet. The trail then climbs through sub-tropical forest and then joins the trail coming from Syabru Besi, and then ascends through oak and rhododendron forests. On the trail it is very likely we will encounter Langur monkeys in the tree tops. The trail continues up a steep incline before reaching the Lama Hotel .
Today the trail takes us toward Ghode Tabala from where we will have our first views of the enormous mountain Langtang Lirung (7227m). The trail takes us through a Rhododendron forest – more spectacular during spring when it is in full pink bloom. There is also a national park office here. Today’s trek will take between four to five hours before reaching Langtang Village (3450m) where we will stay the night.
Today’s trek is relatively easy and takes about 3 hours but slowly gains altitude which necessitates taking it at a slower pace. The trail is not too difficult which gives you more time to appreciate the valley and mountain scenery. We eventually reach Kyanjin Gompa in the afternoon.
Today you can choose to lounge around and explore the surrounding area or alternatively follow a trail up the moraine to see the breath-taking views of the ice faces and glaciers of Langtang Lirung, or ascend Kyanjin Ri that lies right behind the village where you will have panoramic views of the Langtang peaks.
Leaving Kyanjin we follow the same route down the valley following Langtang Khola to Mundu village and then on to Ghora Tabela. Along the trail we will stop for lunch and then continue until we reach the Lama Hotel where we will stay the night.
Today we continue down the trail among forested areas in the quiet mountains until reaching Syabru Besi.
Today we travel by road from Syabru Besi to Kathmandu along a winding road with fantastic views of deep gorges, lush hillsides and terraced farmland at every turn. On arrival at Kathmandu, you will have time to do some last-minute shopping and explore the city.
