Itinerary

From the time you arrive in Kathmandu, the capital and cultural city of Nepal, we will be there at the airport to greet you and take you to your hotel.

Very early morning you will be picked up at the hotel by our guide and escort you to Ramechhap for domestic flight. Then you board the flight from Ramechhap  to Lukla. During the flight you can enjoy stunning views of Himalayas. After landing at Tenzing-Hilary airport you meet your porter. He will carry your luggage. Then you start your trekking. Today you trek of three to four hours. It’s easy and gentle. The trail starts passing a Kani (ceremonial gatehouse). It descends steeply then runs level above Kyangma village, which has a large gompa (monastery) and school. After that, you enter Cheplung village. The trail descends through community forest with the sight of Dudh Koshi River. Crossing suspension bridge it’s a short climb around the ridge to Ghat. Leaving Ghat the trail passes a school and complex of mani walls, Chortens and prayer wheels. Then the trail climbs to the hamlet of Chhuthawa. From Chhuthawa after a short walk, you reach to Phakding.

After a nice morning, walk continues crossing bridges over Dudh Kosi River passing several interesting villages of Toc-Toc,Bhenkar and Monjo arriving at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate, from here on the river bed for few hours and after the last bridge a steep uphill to Namche Bazaar, at Namche with facilities of good restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, and banks.

This idyllic town is an ideal place for”acclimatization”. Health specialists recommend we spend the day being active, rather than sitting idle. From Namche it is possible to take a short hike to Everest View Resort, visit Khumjung or relax and explore Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the main center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, ATMs, internet cafes, shops, restaurants and bakery.A short trek of only a hundred metres will help us to properly acclimatize. Our guides will also take us to the Tourist Visitor Center near the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park where we can observe an assortment of relics related to the first mountaineers to climb Everest, Sherpa culture and discover the varied plant and animal life of the Everest region.

The trek continues along the rapid flowing glacial waters of the Dudh Kosi River with magnificent views of the mountains (Mt. Everest, Lhoste, Taboche Peak, Ama Dablam. You eventually reach an altitude of 3,800 meters at Tengboche. At the Tengboche monastery are unbelievably ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of various poses of the Buddha, musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. Our group will be taken to observe a prayer ceremony, either in the evening or in the morning, depending on how the trekking goes this day.

The trek from Tengboche to Dingboche is only a short distance which we will most likely complete in the afternoon. The last hill into Dingboche, and at this high altitude, is challenging! The trail then heads to the village of Somare (4020m) and then to Orsho, both of which have lodged. Later the trail divides, with the left trail heading up to Pheriche before crossing a suspension bridge and a steep climb to the village of Dingboche (4460m) with many good guesthouses.

Our trek today begins at around 8.30 a.m taking us on a relatively easy route up to Chhukung. From here you get a superb view of Mt. Ama Dablam. The views from Chhukung and later in the valley of Island Peak is spectacular. From Nagarjuna, we have magnificent views of Lobuche East (6119m), Thamserku (6608m), Khangtega (6685m), Lobuche West (6145m), Taboche Peak (6542m) and Ama Dablam (6856m) Today’s trek is relatively short, mostly downhill, before reaching Dingboche where we stay overnight.

We have a short trek to Chhukung, the last settlement in the Khumbu region in the Imjatse Valley from where you have some great views of the snow capped Mt. Makalu in the east. We will arrive at Chhukung in the afternoon which will allow you free time to hike to Chhukung Ri for more fantastic views of the mountains and also help you further acclimatize.

Before dawn, we will head out along an icy path and then a rocky trail beneath Kongma-La Pass . We will cross Kongma-La Pass (5,535m) that is nestled between Mt Nuptse, Mohare and Pokalde peaks. After a hard climb to the Khumbu Glacier and moraine (rocky ground), we follow a steep trail up to the base of the Khumbu Glacier to arrive at Lobuche for an overnight stop at a lodge.

Today we cross the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. Further along the trail we sight the crest of the north ridge of Everest, and Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbutse & Mt. Nuptse. A short climb leads us to Thangma Riju from where we have 360-degree panoramic view of the surrounding snow-capped mountains. Another steep climb takes us across the Changri Glacier where we get our first views of Kala Patthar sitting just below Mt. Pumori. Upon reaching Gorakshep we have some spectacular panoramic snow-covered peaks including Mt. Everest.

Again we get up early to trek to Kala Patthar a black rocky ridge (5,545m) that offers probably the best views of many peaks, especially a close up of Mt.Everest. We then head back to Gorakshep via the base of Cho-La Pass at Dzongla.

Another early start as we trek to Thangnak where we have a brilliant view of Mt Cholatse (6440m). Today is definitely the toughest day of our trek as we head to cross Cho-La Pass (5420m). On reaching the highest point of the valley we begin our trek through Cho La Pass that offers some stunning views of Chola Lake and Mt. Amadablam. The climbing can be hard going due to it being rocky ground and with rocks often covered in ice. After reaching the top of the pass we then descend to Thangnak – a much easier trek.

An early morning starts and we begin our trek to the small village of Gokyo at the base of Mt Gokyo. Along the trail, we will have some fantastic mountain views. After leaving Longponga (4720m) we continue uphill on a trail that leads to Gokyo with a magnificent view of Tanjung Tsho Lake (4710m). After a short walk along the edge of the Ngozumpa Glacier (36 km is the longest glacier of Nepal), we arrive at Gokyo Lake where we will stay overnight.

This morning we will climb to Mt. Gokyo Ri and get a panoramic view of some of the world’s highest peaks, including Mt. Cho Oyo, Gychung Kang, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Cholatse, Tawache and Mt. Makalu in the east. This is truly one of the highlights of this trek. We then descend to Gokyo. Option two is a trek to Gokyo’s 5th lake, about 5 hours on the trail, leading us to the base of Mt. Cho-Oyu – the world’s 6th highest mountain that borders Tibet. From here we will also have some incredible views of Mt. Everest, Changtse and the enormous glacier of Cho-Oyu.

Once again we are up before dawn as we head to our final high pass. We follow the trail at the end of Gokyo Lake and along the trail we are again blessed with more amazing views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche, before crossing Renjo La Pass. This is also one of the most physically demanding sections of our trek, but once we reach the top we will be rewarded with magnificent 360 degree views of Mt. Cho-Oyu and other towering snow clad peaks. After a short rest we continue our trek to the frozen lakes below Renjo La Pass before heading on a long trek downhill to the tiny village of Lungdang – close to Nangpa-La Pass. The trail then leads to Marlung village where we stay for the night above the banks of the Bhote Koshi River.

Leaving Marlung we follow a steadily ascending trail until we reach Thame Village that has its own hydropower generator. On the trail we pass several Khumbu villages and pass through pine and rhododendron forests just prior to reaching Namche Bazaar.

This is our final day of trekking before returning to our starting point at Lukla. This is a time to reflect on the unforgettable memories of our trek as a group and our achieving our individual goals. A free afternoon allows you time to relax and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening we will celebrate with a few drinks and dance.. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included

Our morning flight will have us reach Kathmandu in around 30 minutes. During the flight, you will have a birds-eye view of many of the world’s soaring peaks in the Himalaya Ranges. Your guide will escort you from the airport to your hotel. Tonight White Himalayan Adventure Treks will put on a farewell dinner where we can share memories and our stories.

Today, last day in amazing Nepal with great experience and fond memories of trekking, as per your time for an international flight, White Himalayan Adventure Trekking representative will transfer you to the airport for your final departure homeward bound or to your next destinations.
