The name Pikey is derived from local Sherpa Clan deity which represents the sky over the nature.Pikey Peak Trek is newly introduced trekking route in Khumbu region which allows us to enjoy up-close view of Everest and lower Khumbu region along with magical landscapes. Eight days Pikey Peak Trek Itinerary is designed to minimize the risk of AMS by limiting the daily gain in altitude. The Pikey Peak trail route is covered with lush forests of rhododendron, oak and pine. You will walk through numerous villages perched on ridge tops surrounded by terraced fields.
From Pikey peak, you will get the grand view of mountain peaks – Everest, Makalu and Kanchenjunga to the far west. Upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, welcome by our representative and taken to your hotel.
The first leg of our journey takes us from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazaar. We follow the Sunkoshi River until we reach Ghurmi. Along the way, you can sit back and admire the ever-changing Nepali countryside of dense forest, terraced rice fields, and numerous rivers. We eventually reach Dhap Bazaar where we can stroll around the markets and enjoy mountains view.
After leaving the border village of Kerung we follow the trail to Jhapre. Along the trail, we will stop and admire Buddhist monasteries and the incredible landscape where orchids grow at random among the forests.
Today we reach the second-highest point of the trek and along the trail; we pass Mani stones, stupas, and ancient Buddhist Stupa.
Our trek today takes us to a superb vantage point where the views of the Himalayan Range extending from Kanchenjunga to Dhaulagiri will take your breath away. Of course, the view of the world’s highest mountain is visible from this location. There are often yak grazing alongside the trail and at times the yak herders will offer you fresh yak milk. After taking in the expansive panorama from Pikey Peak we will head down to Jase Bhanjyang and trek to Junbesi Valley where we stay the night.
After visiting Thupten Choling Monastery and observing several aspects of their culture we continue on until we reach Phaplu, which should take us around five hours.
Today we bid farewell to the mountains and board our vehicle for the drive back into the Kathmandu Valley. In Kathmandu, we take you to any hotel, and the evening is yours to relax after a long drive.
