Cholatse Peak is one of the technical 6000ers in the middle of Khumbu and Gokyo Valley. Because of the steep soaring lines and challenging southwest ridge, Mt Cholatse poses some significant level of challenge which attracts aspiring Himalayan Alpinists with prior experience in climbing. Given the challenges, the reward that the summit offers is precious.
The peak was first conquered by Vern Clevenger, Galen Rowell, John Roskelley, and Bill O’Connor in 1982 via the southwest ridge. The climbers have been following the same route since then.
Cholatse Peak Climbing is an exceptional opportunity to test your endurance in the quiet and secluded area of the Everest region. As it is preferred by experienced climbers, the crowd is pretty less than on other popular peaks like Mera peak and Island peak.
The trek to the base camp starts with a domestic flight to Lukla leading to Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Dole, Machherma, Gokyo, Thagnak, Base Camp to Summit. We then retrace the path back to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu.
The major attraction of the trek is the beautiful Namche Bazaar that is inhabited by Sherpas with local and authentic culture and traditions. We will also explore the Gokyo Valley with its own pristine beauty. Hike up to Gokyo Ri is another adventure we undertake for acclimatization. The serene views of Gokyo lakes are mystical.
Join us on this unparalleled adventure to the remote and isolated Cholatse peak and test your mountaineering skills and add one more achievement to your list.
